Who we are

Sofia's Olive Grove ("we", "us") operates the accommodation located at Skala Kallirachi 640 04, Thassos, Greece, and the website sofiasolivegrove.gr. What data we collect and why

When you submit our booking request form, we collect your full name, e-mail address, phone number, arrival and departure dates, number of rooms and guests, and any comments you choose to include. We use this information solely to check availability, calculate a price, and reply to your request. The legal basis for this processing is the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the consent box before submitting the form.

For the protection of the form against abuse, our server temporarily records your IP address in order to limit the number of submissions per hour. This is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long we keep your data

Booking request e-mails are kept for as long as necessary to handle your request and any resulting reservation, and are deleted afterwards unless we are legally required to keep them (e.g. for tax purposes in the case of a completed booking). IP records used for rate limiting are automatically discarded within one hour.

Who receives your data

Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing. Form submissions are delivered to our e-mail inbox. Our website is hosted on a server within the EU; the hosting provider processes data on our behalf only as necessary to operate the website.

Third-party content

When you load our website, your browser also connects to the following external services, which receive your IP address as a technical necessity: Google Fonts (typefaces), Cloudflare cdnjs (map software library), and Esri/ArcGIS (satellite map imagery on the contact page). Links to Booking.com open the Booking.com website, which applies its own privacy policy.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you. The only data stored in your browser is your accessibility preferences (e.g. larger text, high contrast), if you use the accessibility tools — this is functional storage that never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time through the "Reset" option or your browser settings.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr, Kifissias 1-3, 115 23 Athens).
